opposition t said:
"Contorted and anxious Beefheart edged rock'n'roll. Opening guitar scrapes are unlike any sound you've heard before. Then preciously catchy nibble lines compete with evil feedback screams. An urgent insistence of flickering clangs is set against staccato rock riffs. Edgy nibble cycles build to rock'n'roll slaminal crescendos. Add bounding splodge bass lines. Underline with crisp juddering drums. Overlay northern poetic drones, throaty screams, false falsetto queries and responses. Words are way on the wild side - "I was walking through the streets of Islington the other week…" (me too); "He said - no, you will stay here until you have looked at every last one of these pictures"; "you make my balls bigger" and "Cain was my lover". The 3hos sound makes me think of a supercharged Nick Lowe, a post-rocked Clash, and Leicester icons TEAM. You have to love 3hos. All of them together. This is lo-fi big-bawled blues right off its trolley. Complete with Beefheart freakouts. Stellar gurus.                                                                               Author: RMC

keep your eyes peeled for Notorious Hi-Fi Killers shows and 7" in March / April.

09.11.05 > .... Noisestar vowed never to do an alldayer again!....we lie!  This Sunday we team up with the lovely ladies at Monotreme records + Silver Rocket to bring back the sound to the best venue in London ,  the Bull and Gate.  We start at 4pm and run though till last orders with some of the finest loudest rock n' roll from around the country.  Print out a flyer (cause they look amazing), bring it up to Kentish Town this Sunday, get seriously pissed, shout at the stranger next to you while spitting in their face, and stumble home with a kebab thoroughly shit faced!  You will thank us on Monday morning when you realize it's not really worth dragging yourself in to work.

You can get tickets in advance from ticketweb here http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=uk&query=schedule&venue=bullandgate&month=10&day=13&year=105

Here are some rubbish descriptions and some approximately right stage times

Trencher (Casio grind-core nastiness) 10.15

Cove (angular lo-fi riffage) 9.30

The Mass (genius skronk metal) 8.45

Bilge Pump (b*stard scaffolders from Leeds) 8.00

Diemunchmachine (Krautrock meltdown from Part Chimp spinoff) 7.15

Comanechi (girl/boy drums/guitar screamo) 6.30

Kyote (far too nice to go with the rest of this bill) 5.45

Silent Front (inspired post-hardcore) 5.00

(SF are mighty fine, miss them at your peril) plus Silver Rocket DJs all day, merch stalls and fine company. Oh, and beer. And yes I have procured a case of earplugs which we will be giving away on the day, so if you want to protect your ears at the gig The Bull and Gate are at 383 Kentish Town Road, Islington, NW5 1AA, it is very close to Kentish Town tube station, and unlike our all dayer last year the tube station will be open and the Northern Line is running! There are lots of food places nearby for when you get snacky and of course you can come and go as you please during the day. Come and support them as the threat of closure is still hanging over their heads - the venue is set to be turned into yet another block of flats next year, which both sucks and blows at the same time http://www.bullandgate.co.uk/

sat 19th july - 12 bar club, london > what happened......

it's hot and humid > hangover from last night courtesy of the princess. nothing ever goes to plan - a band from leeds, 2 from the green lands of kent and 1 from italy!?!?! this could well be a nightmare. "luckily i am alert!" as matt from Joey Fat once said. Soundcheck from hell > Querelle are loud > people cram into this tiny room to see three italians make love to a wall of beautiful noise for half an hour > jaws dropped > then a slow dispersal after a 15minute version of "carillon" - up next is Joey Fat > by now we are all disorientated by the heat and wondering why the fuck we payed 6 quid to stand in a tiny room squashing against our close freinds - untill Matt 'fat reminds us "we love all the bands tonight, they are all amazing!' - oh yeah now i remember.....lets have another cold beer and enjoy the show. Joey Fat bounce and jig and climb the walls > Matt is very tall and a lyrical/poetical genious > and if i drop down dead after my next pint i will die with a smile on my face > Charlottefield ripped through their set. this is the 3rd time i have seen them and by far the best > the bass rumbled, the guitars screached and the drummer smacked the shit out of his kit > absolutely ace > buy the records - oh sorry you can't they're all sold out > save the loudest for last i guess > KILL YOURSELF > well i think you may as well do that because you'll never be in or see a band quite as fucking amazing as Kill Yourself > why? because they turn it up loud and smash the shit up > ok > ok.

lovely night of fun and games down at the catch 22 last wednesday. Ampop and Mugison pulled out leaving only Princess headbutt and Veal to fill the place. nevertheless, Princess built a wall of noise around several synths, distortion and horns followed by Veal who jammed and jerked out their tunes of love and cocaine in true rock and roll style.
